Ucb home loans still expensive

With the latest drop in rates UCB home loan is still over 2% too high, this current variable rate is still 4.79% after the last rate cut.

The News that the Bank of England has cut interest rates to 1.5%, the lowest level in its 315-year history, will give no respite or reduction in UCB mortgage payments, this has to stop.

The half percentage point reduction brings interest rates below 2% for the first time since the Bank of England was founded in 1694.

Its time the Government showed its teeth and made and example of Mortgage lenders who are not passing on rate cuts in full, and are therefore not aiding the economic recovery Gordon Brown WANTS..

So come on lets get this ecomonic recovery on the road and let consumers have more money to spend..

  1. NICO says :

Yes i have to agree its an absolute disgrace. When i fixed 2 years ago the bank base was 5.25% and i fixed at 5.89% a difference of 0.64%.
NOW its 0.5% and these greedy sods are charging 4.79%.A margin now of 4.29%
Its not on this has surely got to be unfair and i dont see why the FSA or the OFT cannot step in unless the FSA WAS SET UP FOR LENDERS BY LENDERS! You only have to see who works for them!
Come on Gordon if you want to help us then sort these lenders out.
